Call for Sessions

Propose a session!

Organizing a session is the best way to learn from a conference. It provides an opportunity to share your experiences, to get feedback on your ideas, and to try new session formats.

What are we looking for?

The theme of this year's conference is growing Agile locally, so we are particularly interested in proposals that resonate well with the theme. When preparing your proposal, please take the following things into account:

  • Just like last year, we target three main audiences: people new to agile, practitioners and people in management positions.
  • We have time slots of 45 min., 60 min. and 90 min.
  • Presentations, lectures, interactive sessions, games, workshops are all welcome. Do keep in mind that especially for the longer time slots, we prefer interactive sessions.

We are confident that we will be able to offer all our participants audience a high quality conference with lots of different interesting topics, presented by you!

Release early and often!

Send in your proposals early and use the feedback to turn it into the best possible session by the submission deadline on August 20th, 2010. Don't wait until the last possible moment to submit it, that's so waterfall. Submit your session early, give and receive feedback, improve your proposal iteratively and help us create the best possible conference program.

After the submission deadline, the conference program committee will select the sessions for the conference. We strive for a good balance of different formats and topics, suitable for participants with different levels of experience. We will let you know if your session was selected at the latest by early September.

Enough talk, how do I submit a proposal?

Send an email to program@torontoagilecommunity.org, including the following information:

  • Title - What's your session about in only a few words?
  • Length - How much time will you need (45', 60' or 90')?
  • Format - Presentation, simulation, game, workshop, panel, ...
  • Session Abstract - Short description of you session, this will also be published in the program
  • Your Bio - Tell us who you are

As soon as we receive your proposal, we can create an account that allows you to manage your proposal(s) on the website, and give and receive feedback.

We depend on you to create a top-notch program for everyone. All session proposers are therefor expected to:

  • Provide constructive feedback on other sessions
  • Use the feedback on your own proposal(s) to improve them
