Kanban 101: Evolving your Agile process through Kanban and Lean
Trainers: John Goodsen and Michael Sahota
Kanban for Lean Software Development is quickly becoming adopted by Agile software teams as the next Agile software process. Kanban is a visual card system used to make intangible work visible and manage flow in the software development process.
Course Content
During this action-packed workshop you will participate in several interactive group sessions where you will have the opportunity to practice key concepts. You will learn:
What is Kanban and when to use it
- How to map a software development value stream
- How to apply Lean principles such as identifying waste and visualizing flow
- How to improve your Scrum process with Kanban
- How you can use Kanban to create change
- How Kanban supports scaling Agile within large organizations
How will the course be structured
- Learn by doing. Most of the session will be hands-on learning so that you remember the material after you leave.
- Open door on knowledge. We know a lot but not everything - come ready to share you knowledge and perspectives.
- Get ready for a challenge. We are going to ask some tough questions to help you integrate the learning.
- Fun. People learn more when they have fun, so we have some interactive games planned.
Who should attend?

- Managers, Team Leads, Project Managers
- Non-software people interested in visual management (Operations, support, etc.)
