We are offering two full-day workshops to provide in-depth learning beyond the regular conference program:
Wed. Nov. 2nd

Agile Project Management beyond the Mechanics and MovesNote: date has changed from Nov. 1st to Nov. 2nd

Trainer: Gil Broza

Does any of the following sound familiar?
  • You are part of a group implementing Scrum or other Agile methods, but the team isn’t quite buying in (or is outright resisting it)
  • You've had Agile training (e.g. Certified ScrumMaster), and somehow it doesn't quite map to your company’s messy reality
  • You like Agile, it makes sense, you understand that “it’s about people” – but you don’t know how to translate that into practice
  • Now that you’re an “Agile manager”, you're not sure how you add value

If these statements resonate with you, this experiential, PowerPoint-free workshop is for you. Practise the various ways in which you add value as an Agile manager. Experience first-hand how deeply the human factor affects a team’s performance. Gain tools for helping your team find their voice and overcome their challenges. Become confident in your role as servant leader who helps the team grow, become self-organizing, and commit to their objectives. more...

This workshop is largely based on Gil's upcoming book, "The Human Side of Agile Management"

Dramatic Techniques for Dramatic ResultsTrainers: Amy Feinberg and Greg Selvin

Make play a serious business by stealing the best-kept secrets of the theatre. Theatre has made teambuilding, collaboration and communication into an art. The teams are called ensembles and they consistently deliver projects on schedule and have done so for thousands of years. Amy Feinberg and Greg Selvin (a theatre director/producer and a Product/Development Manager), will teach proven, practical methods from the Theatre that include creating a "safe" environment for trust between members, learning to actively listen and respond, directing the work to maximize commitment and buy-in, and defining objectives and actions that allow for group ownership and actionable goals. Take these approaches back to the office to help you be more effective team members, leaders, and practitioners.

What to expect:
The format of the workshop will combine hands-on exercises and circle discussions. Participants will witness and experience the process of bringing relative strangers together who will learn to trust, listen, collaborate, and create in a matter of hours. Amy guides the group through collaborative exercises and experiences and Greg relates the work to the Agile process directly. Each participant will discuss what he or she experienced during each exercise and helps correlate and personalize its relationship to work-related, team-related issues. As the day goes on, these correlations to the team dynamic and Agile process will crystallize. more...
