| The XPToronto/Agile User Group is a dedicated community of software development specialists located in the Toronto area. The members of XPToronto are committed to the acceptance of Agile development methodologies, such as Extreme Programming, Scrum and many others. Through education and discussion, it works to refine the development process. The group was founded in 2000, and continues to meet on a regular basis on the third Tuesday of each month. | ||

Extreme Programming Profiles Extreme Programming (XP) provides a set of principles and practices to apply to the problems of software development. But different situations require different solutions and some practices may yield more or less value depending on circumstance. For example, test driven development is less helpful when exploring a new API or platform -- it may require days of reading and hacking to get a single test to pass. Other practices such as a daily stand-up meeting or continuous integration can become more important as compensation for the lack of focus in such tasks. In this presentation Marc Henderson and Michael Buckley of Intelliware Development will introduce the different Extreme Programming profiles that they’ve observed and discuss different situations where these profiles may be applicable.
